Anybody know of a Blu-Ray Player/Recorder with HDTV tuner? |
|
Only thing I've been able to find is about $800+ and I don't have $800+. Anyone know of a less expensive way to go?

But you could certainly get a blu-ray player and an HD tuner for cheaper than $800 bucks if you bought them seperatly.

4. So you can get a tuner for a player? Somebody told me.... |
|
...they work on TVs but not disc players. Or am I confusing tuners and converters?

If you want to play Blu-Ray Discs on either an HDTV or an old TV, you don't need any extra equipment.
You'd only need a converter if you wanted to watch TV broadcast over the air.

6. Yes, I have an HDTV... |

But I want to record the programming and my current DVD recorder does not tune in the digital channels (the only ones I get because I don't have cable; I'm using an over-the-air antenna). Because Blu-Ray appears to be what we'll be stuck with, and because it'll work backward to DVDs, that's what I want. I also want recording capability that will grab those digital channels. For that, I *think* I need a digital tuner built into the Blu-Ray unit, right?
