Please, find out what the laws are in your state. This is one point of sex ed that all too frequently gets left out, telling young men what will and won't get them in prison.
Check out www.ageofconsent.org to find out more.
In some states a 16 year old can go to jail for having sex with a 15 year old and in others a 45 year old WON't go to jail for having sex with a 16 year old.
There was a case not long agoi where a highschool senior went to jail for having sex with another student. He was 18 she was 15.
Be aware.

2. The problem with younger women is that they don't know what they want |

And the problem with older women is that they know exactly what they want.

3. The question's relative .... |
|
As a mother, I'd say 'too young' for my daughter is under 20 because I know what she doesn't about regrettable mistakes and young men's hormones.
As a rational human, I'd say 'too young' is under 17 because you generally don't know what you're doing or why you're doing it.
As a 35 year old single woman, 'too young' is under 27 because guys that age I've met still seem to have their heads up their asses.

I know where all the keys are and can type (fairly well) with my eyes closed so it's not that much of a difference.

4. Well I have a 19 year old daughter |
|
so she is old enough for some things, but if anyone lays a hand on her, I may kick some ass! Nah thats just a father talking. She has a mind of her own(boy does she ever) and is trusted to make the right decisions in life. In short, legal age got my vote.

Youth doesn't appeal to me in that regard. Sorry TXlib, you have a year to wait for me (and bigger appologies to KCDem for my poor attempts at humor). Happy birthday by the way!!!! :toast:

11. Divide your age in half and add seven. |
|
At least, I heard that somewhere. If you're 40, that means 27 is okay and 26 is not. If you're 50, 32 is okay. 60, 37.
Sounds like arbitrary bullshit to me, though.

12. Don't date a teenager if you have a teenager |
|
I posted this in the other thread too. My uncle was shunned by his daughter's friends because their parents had concerns about his relationship with a 19 year old. His oldest daughter was 15 at the time. One woman even called him a "baby raper".

When I was 21, I had to do some really mind-bending things to get a reputation for being a pervert.
Now all I have to do is date women of that age or younger.
Such are the perks of age -- the criteria for perversion are much easier to achieve!

I was quite young when I went through that change. I won't say how young because that makes it even sicker. You really should want girls with an emphasis on "girls" that young unless you are a preteen yourself.

As I'm 27 now, anyone under 18 is even too young for my celeb. crush list. And I don't automatically add someone if they are 18 or older: for example, Mandy Moore still looks too young. For dating, the optimum would be 21 or out of college, up to about 35. But until I get into my low 30s, I wouldn't rule out someone who is 18 or just legal.

26. Having a little difficulty understanding what the missing clause |
|
in your question is, not being a person of subtle mind, but I'll assume you mean "too young for someone of my age to have an intimate relationship/partnership with."
Now that that's cleared up, something I didn't really realize until my 40's was that one keeps changing & growing through life, and the things a 30-year old is discovering and learning are something very different from your typical nearly-60 year old's (*ahem*) perspective. I enjoy my 19-year old daughter immensely, we talk all the time about her life & what she's finding out about the world, and we even discover some things together (ocean/surf kayaking, opera, books by Tanya Huff) or I let her keep some things for herself (rock climbing). But to think of having a partner of that age - no, thank you!, emphatically not. Even a ten year age difference can be a real cultural gap - so in short, I have a total lack of understanding of the deal with men marrying women half their age.

27. Depends on whether I'm planning on having a conversation |
|
with them afterward. If I'm not, then anything legal works, presuming anyone that young would be interested in someone undoubtedly older than his/her mother. However, to have an actual conversation, it has to be someone who doesn't begin every sentence with "Dude!" regardless of who he's addressing.
