Why the hell do they have to mention that Heath Ledger was naked when he was found? |
|
:grr: For some reason, that really pisses me off.
It just seems so lurid and sensationalistic that they'd have to release that info.
Why not let him have whatever dignity he has left and just say he was found in his bed?
Sigh...it's just so sad.

I agree...
Maybe they think they'll sell more papers/magazines that way?
So damn young...what a waste...
And his little daughter will miss her daddy so much...

2. He was waiting for a massage. I wonder if this was a case of accidental overdose rather than |
|
suicide. The whole thing is sad. :(

8. I bet it was an accident. |

3. Because the M$M is made up of assholes. |

The man is dead; the fact that he was not wearing clothes is irrelevant.

4. same reason they mention race when describing |
|
a criminal suspect - panders to the lowest denominator of fear.

7. Yeah, except race is important in describing a suspect, as long |
|
as race is not named just in the case of blacks or hispanics. Around here, fortunately, that's not the case. If a suspect is white, that is included in the description of the suspect. I know that's not true in many areas, and in that case, it IS pandering.

5. they're just gonna keep talking about it until they get the autopsy results. |
|
And then they're gonna talk about that ad nauseam. But those details like him being naked are like their filler and it's really sick and totally unnecessary.

6. I remember some years ago at either the |
|
New York or Boston marathon (don't remember which) they went on and on and on about how the female leader (who won the race) had diarrhea. Why they were so fascinated with that is beyond me. But they talked about her diarrhea for DAYS. :eyes:

9. Because people like to talk about and surmise about things. |

At least when it doesn't involve them.

10. Because if you're a journalist who's filled with self-hate because you constantly fail humanity |
|
by refusing to report any actual news or do any actual journalism, and the few times you do, you fill the reporting with spin and soundbites, you focus on celebrities and bring up bit of dirt you can find so that you seem that much closer to a human being in comparison.
OR you're one of the new journalists of the last 15 years, and you grew up and were trained in a social milieu in which you've never had a chance to see real journalism, and so you assume that you are doing it the right way when you report on a dead guy's clothing status instead of dumpster diving at Haliburton finding out the truth of what the goddamn fuck is going on the world.
