Man, I've been doin' it wrong all this time!! |
|
I thought in order to be recognized as a good employee and given due monetary compensation therein, you should arrive on time, in respectable condition, and work hard.
Apparently one merely needs to stumble in 1 hour late due to severe alcohol consumption the evening before (a two-fold endeavor, getting drunk *during* the Packer game and then drinking just as much to drown out the results of the Packer game ) somewhere between still drunk and profoundly hung over. One then needs to sit at their desk and moan softly the entire day and accomplish virtually nothing but the utter basics that will keep her employed.
This was my Monday. And granted, there are several extenuating circumstances at the moment but for some completely inexplicable reason my boss chose that day to give me $1/hr raise.
:D

3. If you don't like your job, you don't strike. You just go in everyday and do it really half-assed. |

That's the American way

I have the same expectations as you about my job...showing up on time, in relatively good condition (I'm not Mr. "Fashion Plate" at my office, but I try) and well...try to work hard..
But a new day may be dawning for us office drones!
BTW: congratulations! I have MY evaluation with my manager tomorrow...please, if you can, send some good thoughts and vibes.
And it's so good to see you around here. :-)

6. Oh see, now I can totally understand that. |

If the minions and underlings in my department are any guide, I'd gladly have given a buck an hour raise to anyone who managed to drag their ass in at all in that condition. Since it's far more likely the little pukes would phone in and leave all their work for me to do.

Who wasn't completely distraught over Sunday's game?
At least none of us will be busy two weeks from Sunday - nothing to watch on TeeVee!
Congrats on your raise :toast:
