62. I don't mind the "haters."
What I mind are the people who get all up in my face with disease and start spewing ignorance: "They never did anything unschlocky!1!! Everything is overproduced and un-band-like!!!!11!" Dudes, no. Go back to the debut in '72 or, especially, Countdown to Ecstasy in '73. Hardly schlocky or overproduced. Understand the change that happened in about '74-'75 when the touring stopped and Fagen/Becker are like "Yeah, no, working band = suxxorz."

Here is the progression of shitty grunge and post-grunge angst rock.
First there was Pearl Jam...and they were pretty good.
Then came Screed...a wussier pearl jam, and they were fucking terrible.
Then came Days of the New...like Creed, only somehow worse. Jesus wept.
Then came Nickelback...and then there was silence.

63. The Beatles
Horrible syrupy pop music for screaming teenaged girls.

And yes I've listened to them.
And yes I know more than a thing or two about music and music production so blah blah blah.
And yes I like almost every genre and style of music and I like pretty much every other "classic rock band", and yes I like most of the bands that did what the beatles did (eastern music flourishes, psychedelia, etc. ) but were able to do it without watering it down for pop music consumption.
And no they didn't invent multi track recording, Les Paul did.
And no, I just don't like them. Not one single bit, not one single song, not one single note.

Listening to an ABBA album has to violate the Geneva Convention in some way or another.

I don't know if ABBA can even be catagorized as "music" but rather as "melodic schlop".

I can't stand Seger.

I do like Petty, so no changing stations for me.

Anything from before Tommy is ok by me. The later stuff will generally get me to change stations. (Except maybe Eminence Front.)

Eagles i'm "eh" about. Don't hate 'em, but never owned an album by them either.

Mediocre, souless rock music at best, saved by a brilliant marketing scheme of having grown men wear animal makeup and funny black outfits. The lead singer is a shameless egomaniac who looks like Mr. Potato Head and probably has had the clap several hundred times.

Also, I despise Korn and all the other "nu-metal" bands that have come out in the past decade. I'd just as well rub a cheese-grater to my ear. And Korn's cover of "Another Brick in The Wall" really deserves to be catagorized as a hate crime.

79. Led Zep, Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chly Peps, Rod Stewart, Manilow, Black Eyed Peas,
Do I even need to get into Britney Spears, Spice Girls, and all of the other pretty-but-talentless scourges of humanity which fester on the airwaves like seeping pustules of misery?

87. Oasis
They could have been just another 90s rock band with a couple of ok songs, but they had to come on like the rest of the world were idiots for not liking them more. And the British music press got behind this attitude 100%. Plus, they seem like total asshats on a personal level.

It takes a fair bit for a band to cross over from 'mockable' to hate, but they managed it in spades.
