Be careful guys, there is no sense of humor allowed in that room.
:hi:
I'm sorry that I have been missing the Lounge and have been raging over in GDP. How is everyone doing?

1. I hope they make it back safely. It's really been viscious over there. |

3. Viscious? As in 10W-30 oil? |
|
Yeah, it is vicious - but it's election year. Slush-slinging is the norm. Regardless of whom I'm voting for*, I won't be crying over any of it.
Oh shit, sorry!
* I'm still undecided...

8. Wouldn't you know it. The one time I don't spell check and I get |

caught making up new words.
Happy to see you made it back pretty much intact.

Mind you, just get a time machine, bring Olivia Newton-John back from 1980, and I'll babble for all eternity... More wholesome Olivia goodness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7ak2QzXLnghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_Ui17J62ao

There's no sense of serious discussion allowed in that room.
Indeed, my post, asking for in-depth details of candidates' stances on jobs had one response. Both candidates lacked anything solid, but too many specifics too early would hurt them too.
I thought GD-P was more for silly antics as a lot was already going on between candidates and people having great fun insulting them.
I still need to find an Obama one, but given the only one I've thought of wouldn't work until after the primaries close (and even then), I am trying to find an alternate joke because it wouldn't be fair, you see, to have put in one bad joke for one candidate, and leave the other unscathed...

4. Yeah, I posted something like that there a while back. |
|
Just asked people to tell me why their candidate was their candidate. All in all, most of the responses I got were from people who hadn't quite decided yet either, and were weighing in the pros and cons of candidates. I think only one person actually stepped up and said, "I'm voting for X because I feel that X has a good chance of winning because of Y and Z." :P
And of course, the very first comment was a very rude person telling me to stop asking questions and go do my own research.

And who, from what I've seen, has a habit of jumping all over people who disagree with her candidate. Among other reasons, obviously, since my post didn't even mention any names.
And I'd specifically said, "No flames in my thread please, I'm looking for straight-up facts." too.
I was sorely tempted to say something along the lines of, "Either you're trying to start a flamewar, or you just can't read instructions. Either way, get the hell off my thread.", but instead I was good and followed my own rules. I ever-so-politely responded with logic and whatnot... and of course never saw this person in my thread again.
I guess she was disappointed that she couldn't stir up shit in my thread. :P

5. Oh, I hear ya there ... |
|
Not long ago, I posted a polite request for individuals who had made their decision about which candidate to support to detail why I, as an undecided, should support that candidate ... policy positions were specifically what I was wanting to know. The caveat was that any "pro" candidate commentary that was built on tearing down another would be ignored.
I think it got half a dozen real responses.
Now, if I'd asked for all the reasons why I should hate certain candidates, I'm sure that sucker would have took off like a rocket.
