|
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 09:22 PM by Darth_Kitten
How are they made? Why are they made? Why do they exist?

1. They are made by frat boys to make young college girls ingest copious amounts of alcohol |

5. Helps mask the taste of the alcohol (if it's done right). |
|
Personally, I'm not a fan of the taste of most straight alcoholic beverages. Making mixed drinks can be a pain (and messy in a party situation), so Jello shots is a compromise between the two. They're semi-solid, like regular Jello.

4. Well, they make it very easy to ingest quite a bit of alcohol quickly |
|
You aren't supposed to chew it, just swallow it whole. They come in little cups, and you mix in the alcohol with the jello mix. So I've heard. :P

6. It's easier to make jello shots before a party than to |
|
mix regular shots during a party. Some like to think of it as an option for lightweights but they can be very strong. If made right it hides the taste of alcohol. I have a friend who likes to make them with 151. Hers don't taste strong but they feel strong. There are as many ways to make Jello shots as there are to make regular mixed drinks. I have some margarita, pina colada, and strawberry daiquiri Jello that warns on the box that it's non-alcoholic but the company has to know it's not being used for children's lunches.

11. Yep, people would eat them |

not feel anything, then drink something hard because the jello shots weren't acting fast enough. Around the same time the hard liquor is synthesized the jello will break down and release the alcohol right into the small intestine, and if you're drinking too much you dont have a chance.
I've actually been at parties with bunches of kids where I threw out the jello shots. People bitched, a lot, but I poured them something strong instead, and they lived. Better to be hated and know nobody died that night, then be the cool one and have someone dead by sunrise.
