Song parody time! Here's one I wrote many years ago: |
|
(I won't need to tell you the song it parodies.)
Yank my doodle, it's a dandy, Yank my doodle or I'll die...
I am a doodle-yankin' son of a bitch, Drunk on the fourth of July...
Please yank my doodle 'cause my sweetheart, She said that she would rather die...
I yanked my doodle down in London, riding on a pony...
And if you think that's bad, you should see what I did to John Denver's "Country Roads."
(Mods: Not a 'sex thread.' Just a really dirty song, which they loved in the Irish bars where I used to play. After they'd had half a dozen drinks, of course.)
OK, folks, what do you have? I know there are some bright and sick people around here, and plenty of songs to parody.

6. Really, REALLY horrible joke, and one that I came up with myself (though I'd not |
|
be surprised if others developed it independently):
Q: What's the last thought that went through John Denver's mind?
A: Sunshine, on the water...
Sorry about that.

7. I've always loved writing parodies. |

I've even sometimes managed to write what I'd call "perfect" parodies, where the entire song had the right number of beats, accent on the correct beat/syllable, etc. (and I've seen plenty of parodies that don't do that).
When I hated a song and heard it constantly on the radio, I'd turn it into a dirty parody. Another time, when I was taking a humor writing class (taught by Ann Landers' daughter), I turned "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" into "Kenneth Starr Is Coming to Town." Yes, the class took place during the Clinton years, and this was around Christmas time.
My bird, Grace, likes me to sing to her, so sometimes I'll do a parody of part of a song to sing it about her (her favorite). Grace is a parrotlet, so I'll sing:
Take me down to the parrotlet city Where the birds are green, and oh so pretty, Take me home.
(From the Guns'N'Roses song, "Paradise City."
