Palm Springs!
The words are magic to me...

I've always wanted to go ...

My husband, well, not so much...

But now I have a reason for going!

My oldest daughter, the painter, is exhibiting in a big show next weekend!

I'm going out to see her, and ride the tram to the mountain top, and have a ball!

I know it's a week away, but I just decided to do it today, and I wanted to share it with all of you!

I am so excited!

:woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks!

I'm sure I will!

I called my daughter today to tell her I'd be there, and she was thrilled...

I cannot fucking wait!

4. hey, CaliforniaPeggy! Palm Springs is one of my
favorite places! I grew up about 45 minutes west of there (Redlands); my mom and I would go into PS at least once a month and go to museums, galleries, etc. Way back then, the Hamburger Hamlet (on the main road, now in the mall that was built up around it about 15-20 years ago) had FANTASTIC French Onion soup; not sure if they still do, but it's kind of a fun restaurant. Or was - haven't been there since the mid-1990s.

Have fun! I love the California desert; it is just so lovely.

12. Museums, Galleries??
Wow, all we ever did was hide out in malls and pools to escape the heat (oops forgot the tram). I truly despised the place. Maybe I should give it another chance. Any recommendations?

6. Awesome!!
I've never been to Palm Springs before either! I know a lot of people really like it there, though I hear you have to go between the months of November and April or it's like living in an oven. :D

And what a great reason for you to go. You'll have to take pics and report back. ;)

15. Oh, how wonderful, Peggy! Congrats to your daughter on her exhibit!!!
Palm Springs is like the gateway to another world. The galleries are fantastic. You're in for a real treat! :bounce:

The tram ride is breathtaking as are the views from above. Did you know that's the sheerest mountain range in North America?! I hope it's a clear day for you and your camera... although, you really can't take a bad photo of those mountains or desert. Oh, the wind mill farms and rows of date palms... I am green with envy, tee hee!

We observed Comet Hale-Bopp from the peak of San Jacinto in 1997 and it is the place my son first played in the snow.

Make sure to try a date shake if you meander towards Indio. They're really sweet, but unlike anything you've ever tasted before... :9

I can't wait to see your pictures!!!

... en route to California.

Ditch Ricky and Fred. You'll have more fun. And don't steal the Duke's cement footprints, neither.

With my laptop!

I will almost certainly post from there!

I just need to remember to take my cable that allows me to upload my pics into the laptop!

I did that when I went to Europe last year...

Worked like a charm, it did!

I had the flu...am one of the many who have gotten it recently.

Finally went back to work Friday, still shaky after having a 5-day fever, Was still weak today, took a long nap, went to the grocery store...so needed!...and exhausted afterward.

Am fine, resting, and no school here until Tuesday...a few more days to recuperate.
