Asheville DUers (and Western NC): We have a radio station, again!!! |
|
I mean a GOOD station. It's new, WPVM (103.5). The call letters stand for Progressive Voice of the Mountains. Lots of 'Pacifica' type news and analysis, and finally, GREAT music. It's like a college radio station for adults; lots of alternative music, jazz, and local stuff. And it's on 24/7. Note: this is not a 'pirate' station.
But unlike WNCW, NO top-40, no songs played over and over and over, and virtually no country/western or bluegrass. As a final insult, the other night on WNCW, they were playing Lynyrd Skinyrd and the Eagles.... Bye, bye, "Spindale".

to the Triangle? I'll have to investigate. :)
Either way, good for you guys, the best we get is the BBC on WUNC. Which is marginally better than nuttin'. ;)

3. Any idea where the antenna is? |
|
I'm just west of Rosman (about 45 miles SW of Asheville). I'll be back there in a couple of weeks. I'll tune in. Thanks!

You have some good stations down there, anyway. We didn't have one.
