I took a stray cat in last night |
|
Well, temporarily... he used my house like a Motel 6. :)
We had been in the middle of heavy snows and bitter cold for several days. And a few nights before I had heard a cat meowing outside the back door which opens into my apartment bedroom. I went out and it was coming from under the porch. I tried to call or get the cat to come out because I was actually worried that night that he might freeze to death. But I couldn't get to him.
But then a couple nights later I heard him again, and I opened the door and saw him. It was again freezing cold. I didn't have anything for the cat except milk so I put some in a bowl, left the door open - freezing my butt off and put it in the floor. The pretty black cat was really skittish and wouldn't come in for a long time. But finally after I went into the other room for several minutes he did.
Finally he warmed up to me a bit so I closed the door and got into bed. He checked out the apartment, and me a lot. Then eventually jumped up and walked right up to my face and plunged his furry little face right into mine lol. I spent a good couple hours just giving the cat some affection. Then he started to be restless and meow. So hey, I wasn't trying to capture a cat against its will - just give one a warm place to crash if he needed it. I opended the door making sure I wasn't blocking the room so it wouldn't seem like I was forcing him out. He took right off and went on his way...possibly because I had no food in the house at all so I couldn't feed him... maybe he had to go eat I dunno.
Either way, I live alone so it was a neat little experience... hope he is well. :)

1. Don't you just love personal one on one experiences |

with one of Mother Nature's critters like that? I ALWAYS feel so honored and awed after something like that.

5. You know what that cat is saying to his buddies right now, don't you? |
|
"You wouldn't believe this sucker I scammed last night. I pretended to be all shy until I got milk, rubbed off all the dirt on him/her, then cussed until s/he opened the door. Then I just ditched his/her gullible ass."
But blessings be upon you. :applause: :applause: :applause: :patriot:
