Westminster Dog Show on USA |
|
I love watching this most-fabulous-of-all dog shows. I fall in love with a different breed every year.
Anyone else watching?

1. I swear, I was just about to start a thread on this very subject. |
|
I get caught up in it every year as well. I just have to remember to tape "Judging Amy."

2. I wish I'd been able to watch last night |
|
They had some great breeds in last night's groups, but I was in a meeting until late last night.
Did you see a couple-three years ago when the Papillon won best in show?

I enjoy watching the "toy class," but I'm glad I don't have to brush some of those hair balls every day.

He was so cute and the crowd just loved him and he just loved the crowd. I remember they put him in the winners cup and he was looking out-so cute.

Why does the Standard Poodle seem to always win the non-sporting group?

7. Oh! They just had a PBGV |
|
I fell in love with PBGVs a few years ago on this show. They're too rambunctious for me now, but they are sooooooooooooooooo cute.

14. I cannot belive the Welsh Corgi did not win. |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-10-04 11:51 PM by FDRrocks
To my eyes, he was clearly the best breed example there, possible next to "Bunny" (can't spell the Breed name, the egyptian dog).
The winner was adorable though, and I loved his barks of triumph.
edit: Do dogs come in forms uglier than a pekanese (no offense intended, owners, thing just reminds me of a 4-legged troll doll).

we've been cheated. Corgi should have won and if this same judge didn't put this exact dog through last year to best in show it might have been. We needed a judge who didn't have such a connection to the pups.
Corgi's rule and are smarter then drooling Newfoundlands. Please.
(cranky because we lost AGAIN)

right now. With stats and everything. And a list of what a dog could buy with 50 grand.
I was rooting for the Norfolk Terrier, since my breeds didn't make the final cut. What a cutie!

20. watched part of in on Monday night |
|
I usually "crash" by 8:30pm... work hours and all of that
but my partner and I watched the working and the terrier group.
My partner was thrilled that a mastiff took 3rd in the working group, this is that same mastiff that took 3rd in the working group from the Ukanuba dog show the previous week
mastiffs are a dog my partner is very partial too, she use to have a couple of them. with the recent loss of our ratdog, we have been looking around for a mastiff... might be able to work out a deal with a breeder my partner knows.. average price is running $2,500 for a pup... ouchie

I meant to tune it in but forgot about it. I wanted to see how the basset hound fared. I must have been hung up on the Food Network while making dinner.

That Norfolk Terrier was such a cutie, with such a personality.
But Josh is one beautiful dog. All 155 pounds of him!

The only problem I have with it is that they never choose the dogs I love best! There are three colors of cocker spaniels, but has one of them ever won? And I love the Cairn Terriers (like Toto), having had one, but they continue to choose the Norwich or the Norwalk. But I love seeing the beautiful dogs, anyway, as well.:-)
