Weirdness. My Grandma died on Saturday. |
|
She had a massive brain hemorrhage. By the time my Mom and I arrived at the hospital in Minneapolis, she had nothing but "lower level" brain function remaining. We took her off the ventilator, and I watched her die while I held her hand. I'd never seen anyone die, before.
We went to my Grandpa's local VFW to grab some food that night, and there was a band playing. After a while, I heard them start in with a familiar song- "Lara's theme," from Doctor Zhivago. It was the recessional at my wedding; I hadn't heard it in ten years.
Some guy in a semi stalked me for miles on the highway this morning, waving at me as though I knew him. I'm pretty certain I didn't.
Walking through the skywalk to my building at work, a (seemingly) homeless man said something indistinguishable to me, while staring at me oddly.
I bought a new (used) car today. It's a little red Volvo station wagon.
I had weird dreams. Now I have a headache.

It's an old one- '96 S80, I think?
It's got wipers on the headlights. That cracks me up. :D

6. Lol! Good to know they can run that long! |

I'm ditching my '90 (Toyota) minivan for the wagon. My van's in scaaary bad shape. The Volvo's in awesome shape, and it's kind of odd and quirky, so I like it!
Hugs to you, hon'!

mebbe they are signs ???
I dunno
I've had dreams...
with my grandfather in them that seemed like more than dreams as he was giving me advice. Not complicated advice, but reasonable and sound advice that I actually took. (Although I was going to do it anyway it seemed like his approval in the dream made a difference in the commitment I had towards the decision)
again, sorry
don't think you are crazy at all Lara

It's hard to wrap your brain around the idea of someone's absence, initially.

My grandmother died almost two years ago now. She wasn't even a very nice person, but it was still sad and strange.

I am sorry for your grandmas passing, and the rest of the weird things that happened.
Although the Volvo sounds like a good purchase, those are typically very good, long lasting, reliable cars.

I ended up making it down to the cities sooner than I'd planned. Not quite under the circumstances I'd have liked...

It's odd what a weekend can turn into, when you'd thought it would be routine.

Sounds like your feeling disjointed. It's a weird feeling the first time you witness death, and especially when you are close to the person. Take good care of yourself.
