My kitty is not here tonight
camped out in front of my monitor or sitting on my lap. The dog misses her, too, and keeps giving me questioning looks.

She is staying at the vet's office right now.

All her bloodwork checked out fine, but she is still drinking more water than usual. We tried to get a urine sample from her, to make sure her kidney function is all right. Yesterday, we put out the special litter with the plastic liner. She became suspicious of it and decided it would be more fun to pee on the rug.

We took her to the vet at 8:00 a.m. today. She has been there all day, and she won't eat or drink. Soon, she will have to do that, and they can get a urine sample. I know how stubborn she is. But I want her home soon, and I hope her kidneys are healthy.

Why do we all love our cats so much when they are such infuriating creatures?

1. Good luck on her results!
Your right about our pets. They become very close, sometimes more than family or friends. Good luck on the results, I'm sure everything will turn out alright.

2. Awe Muriel, I Feel For You
I had to leave my dog at the hospital for 2 weeks once and it broke my heart. They had visiting hours and we used them but the look on his face every time we left was heartbreaking. The house seems so empty when they are missing.

3. I remember one time when my husband and I went
on vacation and boarded the pets. My son came home to check on things.

He called me and said everything was fine, but the house seemed empty and strange with no animals here.

4. I Had To Do That Once And Felt Terrible
Luckily, I now have family close enough to check in on them a couple of times a day when we travel. As bad as having to board them is, having to leave a sick one in the hospital is much harder.

My cat is getting spayed next Monday and I have been dreading it for weeks. She does, at least, get to come home the same day.

Prayers and good vibes for your kitty. Hope everything turns out okay.

8. I can't stand living without kitties.
I feel like I have a hole in my heart if I'm not surrounded by soft, purring kitties. :loveya:

9. Good luck...my kitty's kidneys are failing...
...it's very traumatic and if that's the news, be prepared...the good news is that it's manageable and he/she can have a comfortable life for a while longer...keep us posted.
