Poll question: It's the fictional Democratic Primary, who do you support?
It's primary day in your state and 9 candidates are vying for your vote. You've just entered the voting booth and you're ready to pull the lever. Who gets your vote?

Thomas Whitmore (Independence Day)

David Palmer (24)

Andrew Shepherd (The American President)

Josiah Bartlet (West Wing)

Merkin Muffley (Dr. Strangelove)

Jack Stanton (Primary Colors)

Tom Beck (Deep Impact)

James Marshall (Air Force One)

Bill Mitchell/Dave Kovic (Dave)

1. That was a tough one between "Dave" and Morgan Freeman's character....
Had to go with Freeman.

Good choices.

16. That's the one I would select.
He was also the fictional President in the movie "Meteor", but I don't count that one because it was a stupid movie.

9. Whitmore got in an F-16 and fought for humanity.
of those you have offered, that's good enough for me. Speaking of defenders of humanity: What about "President John Sheridan"? He defended humanity (and everyone else) many many times in Babylon-5. "President Adama"...nah he'd spend all his time in Florida shaken' down crack dealers. "President James Tiberius Kirk"? absolutely not: misogynist! "President Jean Luk Piccard"?...hmmm well maybe and he could even grow a patch of grapes on the whitehouse lawn! Are there no women??? How could I forget: "President Samantha Carter"? ding ding ding Winner Winner!

21. President Muffley (Peter Sellers) talking to USSR premier Dimitri ?
"Dmitri, you know how we've always talked about the possibility of something going wrong with the bomb? The BOMB, Dmitri. The hydrogen bomb. Well now, what happened is, one of our base commanders, he had a sort of, well, he went a little funny in the head. You know. Just a little...funny. And he went and did a silly thing. Well, I'll tell you what he did, he ordered his planes...to attack your country. Well, let me finish, Dmitri. Let me finish, Dmitri. Well, listen, how do you think I feel about it? Can you imagine how I feel about it, Dmitri? Why do you think I'm calling you? Just to say hello?"

17. Yes, he did.
His Secretary of Defense was pushing him to use nuclear weapons on the aliens. Houston was vaporized and the aliens weren't affected at all.
