I still can't vote in November, but for fuck's sake, you'd think that Obama was the son of the devil or Hillary the biggest corporate whore alive, judging by GD :P, and that ONLY ONE of them can do the job and that if Obama's elected all the gays will be persecuted and if Hillary's elected then the US is going to become a Clinton/Bush dictatorship and blahblahblahBLAAAAAHHHHH. There's some interesting stuff in GD :P, but I loathe the hysterics and the people SWEARING TO GOD that if X is the nominee, he/she won't be voting in the GE and will be moving to Canada/Europe/Australia/wherever.

Abstaining from voting to prove some sort of ideological purity is something too many liberals always feel the need to do.

What the hell point does abstaining from voting or voting for nonviable candidates prove? Nothing, of course, though it does saddle you up with Republicans for the next four years.

When you talked about the past 7+ years, I assumed you were also talking about the past two election cycles and all the third-party skirmishes then, so I went off on a Nader tangent. Sorry; that wasn't obvious. :D

Of course, I'm in a similar situation (Kucinich, then Edwards). I can live with Obama.

That would be the very definition of throwing the baby out with the bath water, and I can't imagine anyone here at a place like DU--which only attracts the most intelligent political minds--saying something as stupid as that they would not vote for the Dem over the RePuke nominee.

44. I'll be voting for whichever Dem gets the nomination.
I have my preference, but if the other one gets the nod, I'll vote for them.

The thing that would piss me off is if the Super Delegates went against the will of the majority and cast their votes for the other person.

And my anger wouldn't be so much about if that happened to my candidate of preference, but because it would nullify the votes of them majority, and to me, that is just WRONG.

I'm voting for Hillary when West Virginia finally gets to hold it's Democratic Primary in mid-May... at the rate we're going, it might even be relevent!

After someone has the nomination, i'll be happy to volunteer time on the phons or at the county Dem HQ, and i will be voting for nothing but Democrats.

Any of ours is vastly preferrable to any of theirs.

...and I would not only cast my ballot for him but I'd be found at the Metro stops giving out literature urging people to vote for Stay Puft. I haven't voted for a 'can presidential candidate since 1976 (and hey, that was Jerry Ford, and it was a different era), and I have no intention to start voting GOP again.
