4. Why does any meme get popular?
 Right place, right time, wide enough dispersion when it first hits... that's all it takes.

6. Personally I'd be more concerned with my youtube links.
They are always scarier and more disturbing than that one. :)

Don't make me prove it.

14. OMG...I have the first link on DVD...part of Spike and Mike's Twisted Animation thing.
I SOOOOOOO love that!!!!!! Brilliant work! "My spoon is TOO big!"

As for Rammstein, I like them quite a bit, though the riffs get a little repetative at times (what good thrash band isn't guilty of that though?). I love the vid for Links 2 3 4. Ants playing soccer is always fun.

15. I am a banana!
I mostly like Rammstein because I'm a bass and I'm sick of all this heavy rock being too high for me to frikkin' sing. :P

Now I just have to learn german...

Just for the hell of it I translated one of my songs that I thought was http://www.stickmanltd.com/practicesessions/alone2-english.mp3">too whiny and emo-y into http://www.stickmanltd.com/practicesessions/alone2-deutsch.mp3">german to see if it sounded more bad-ass.

I think it did. :P

:)

I like both versions of that, if it makes you feel any better. Too short though. Have anything online full length I can listen to (I'm willing to pause the Fugazi Cd I have playing!)?

19. Not too much at the moment.
I've got some of my practice sessions up http://www.stickmanltd.com/practicesessions/">here, but most of them are just covers. Best ones IMO:
John Lennon cover - http://www.stickmanltd.com/practicesessions/workingclasshero2.mp3

An acoustic version of my song I already linked to - http://www.stickmanltd.com/practicesessions/alone2-deutschacoustic.mp3

An effects test for a really trippy song I wrote a while back... just a short version of the guitar part here. I'll record the full version with the lyrics eventually, maybe add a solo or bassline to it. Works best if you have good stereo sound or headphones. :) - http://www.stickmanltd.com/practicesessions/roompan.mp3

One of the first songs I ever wrote. Just have the intro here. It's a little out of sync because it was before I figured out the multi-track program I have. It was written as a love song to a gothy ex. :P - http://www.stickmanltd.com/practicesessions/indarknessintrofull.mp3

And lastly, one of two major key songs I've ever written. I don't know where the hell it came from, it just popped out of my head and onto paper one day. It's toally not my style. Too high for my voice. But yet it still came from me. - http://www.stickmanltd.com/practicesessions/road.mp3

Most of the stuff I've written needs multiple instruments, and I just now have the capability to record multiple tracks properly, so I'm getting used to it before I commit my stuff down. Also, most of my lyrics suck so I'm a little hesitant to put them down in stone.

I also need to get ahold of a real electric guitar, right now I'm just using a pickup for my acoustic. I've been planning on attempting to build my own. Could turn out craptastic, could turn out good. Only one way to find out. :)

I've also got a few things that I wrote on the computer http://www.stickmanltd.com/mymusic/">here, mostly video game soundtracks, and I just set up a http://www.myspace.com/hughsullivanmusic">myspace music page just for the hell of it.

20. There's some cool stuff there!
Your second link is excellent! I could listen to a whole CD of that easily!

And I'm loving the video game stuff!!!!!! This is great!

Your vocals sound fine to me, and I just listened to a Cannibal Corpse song. :)

I can't play a damn thing, I just know what I like, and any music outside the norm will catch my attention.

What do use to record? My friends use CoolEdit Pro and Sonar, and can come up with some really interesting stuff, if a bit on the weird side (See The Noise Of Sound on my Myspace page!)

Could turn out craptastic, could turn out good. Only one way to find out.

That right there sums up my feelings about trying new things, musically or otherwise. :)

22. Right now I'm using Sonic Foundry's stuff
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 09:05 PM by DarkTirade
Soundforge for recording and tweaking stuff, Acid for doing multi-track work. As far as what instruments I have, I've got pictures of everything except my violin on my myspace page. :) And I saved up until I could afford a good recording quality soundcard.

As for the MIDI/Wavetable stuff, right now I'm using all free software. :) So not too much I can do there. But I gotta start somewhere.

*edit* Checking out that myspace link... whoa. :P

23. Heh
I realize my friend's music may not be the inspiration you might want. But it does show that all kinds of things can be done now without major labels and producers. The ability is now in everyone's hands, a great thing in my opinion. Cut out the 10 percenters. :)

Best of luck in your future endeavors. I love seeing people into music, playing or listening.

25. And that's the key for me.
People into it for the fame and money tend to make crap music. It's the ones who play because they HAVE to. I know a lot of what I listen to is out there...but it's ALL honest, and that's my biggest factor in liking something.

Hats off to you, and keep on keepin' on!

17. How can a YouTube vid rickroll you?
I thought ricking was when the browser window jumped around and then you couldn't shut the window because of the java script. I just assumed YouTube doesn't do that.
