50. Fun with fried chicken
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=961628&mesg_id=961628

Oddly enough, the other night Good Eats was about frying foods; ALton Brown specifically mentioned Corn Flakes as one possible breading choice. If it's good enough for Alton Brown, well, it's good enough for anybody!

I said something like "I'm very sorry that Laura died but she was a No Talent hack"

Of Course.. to a Jazz Musician with PP 95, percent of Pop singers are No talent hacks.

I WAS overly harsh though and rather insensitive which I'm sorry for....

28. Gifted & Talented Programs in Schools
This doesn't get as much press as the Olive Garden Wars, but it was my favorite by far.

Side 1: people who were in gifted and talent programs or parents who have kids in these programs. Basically, dozens of people who were bragging that they (or their children) had to be in gifted programs because they would have been far too bored if they were around normal students. The average IQ of this group was approximately 627.

Side 2: people who were too dim-witted to understand the plight of the brilliant student. This group claimed that everyone who had been in the gifted programs at their schools were really morons who ended up incarcerated or migrant farm workers.

It was awesome!! The best part was that John Kleeb started the whole thing-- so funny.

47. Yes, the hatred for the above-average intelligence people expressed in those threads is appalling.
Every time it comes up, there's some subset of hatefilled idiots who feel the need to disparage and shoutdown anyone with above average intelligence, and utterly deny that the overly intelligent kids might have different needs from the average just as the far below average kids do.

I'm disgusted by the vitriol and nastiness expressed every time one of those threads pops up.

Although a serious topic, it rapidly descended into some pretty bizarre prognostications and assumptions. I imagine there are some posters that still have uncleaned egg residue on their faces. :)
