I can't (and wouldn't anyway) post a THE picture but it is right there on yahoo news photos. There is very clear language against posting the pic anywhere without FIFA's consent.

WARNING

really really really bad.

If you ever saw Joe Theismann's leg break back in the 80's well this is worse mainly because someone happened to be taking a close up picture right when this happened.

The player's name is Eduardo Da Silva and he is most likely rather suddenly finished ever playing football (soccer) again.

redqueen is surely in need of a hug today.

WARNING if you go to look at it. It is really really really BAD.

ON EDIT -I am still getting the heebiejeebies from just seeing it out of the corner of my eye (when I went to get the link)

Nine months till he can play again (at least, I'd think)... and Van Persie STILL out. :(

10. Really, 9 months?
I heard that they were calling him done for good. Not going to be good for your season, but I'm glad to hear that he should be back.

A lot of people thought it might have ended his career, as similar injuries have ended other players' careers, but some others have come back, so... it just depends.

*sigh*
