Anyone here have any influence on the weather? |
|
There's a blizzard from the 9th circle of Hades set to go on in Maine this Saturday, but I need it to hold off another day or so due to a travel situation. If you have any pull with the weather gods, could ya put in a good word for me? LOL

2. Thanks. :^) It's me and a bunch of elementary school cheerleaders who |

will be heartbroken if the weather cancels their competition. They've worked so hard!

3. Used to, but I lost it. |
|
I had it when I was working and lost it when I retired. When I was working (airline pilot) we never had a hurricane when I was at home. NEVER. Only when I was off on a trip.
I'd get up one morning in Amsterdam and turn on CNN. "Hurricane Opal bearing down on Alabama gulf coast" I'd call Miz t. No answer. Good, she's already outa there.
It was uncanny. I started taking credit for it. I sent emails to all my friends down here. Explained my powers. Made this offer: "If you guys will get together and pay my current salary, I'll quit work, stay home, and we'll never have another hurricane. If we should leave the area on vacation or some kind of trip, I'll give 48 hours notice. and you won't have to pay for the period of days (pro-rated) that I'm out of the county." No takers. And I got some rude comments. Short sighted, I say.
Then I quit/retired in 1999. Things were fine for a while. Years. I still had the mojo. Then Ivan hit in 2004 and just kicked our ass. Finally, I guess Aeolus, God of the Winds, had gotten the word. And he took the power away. Oh well, easy come, easy go.
Wish I could help. Know any airline pilots in your area? Pay them to stay home. It might work.

12. Yes, but you can't afford a short notice cancellation at this point. |
|
It would cost, like, a brazillion dollars.

I've been to two drought-stricken places and had thunderstorms happen with hours of my arrival.
I'll try to stop.
