Kitchy! and other people with KitchenAid stand mixers- deals on matching goodies
I was out shopping today and I found a couple of good deals on matching kitchen goodies, figured I'd pass them along:

1. Ross has the hard-to-find and normally enormously overpriced matching KA kitchen towels, oven mitts, etc. They had quite a few different colors, I noticed the empire red, orange, light blue, black and taupe at the store I was at. They're very heavy and nice, seem like they'd hold up well, and the colors do match really well. Prices were 2.99- 4.99. My store also had some of the open stock cookware, but all I saw was the hard anodized with the gray outer layer, not the color stuff. But it's a discount store and stock varies, so maybe somebody lucked into some at their location.

2. Marshalls has an OMG! huge selection of the KA kitchen tools, knives and gadgets in the Chefs series and Professional series lines. Prices looked to be roughly $3-$9 for gadgets and knives. Most of the selection at my store was in Empire Red (to match my mixer!) but white and black were also avail. Again, stores probably vary, but I'm guessing you're out of luck if you want orange or baby blue.

3. BigLots had a 4 pc gadget set for $18, black or empire red, not as good a deal as Marshalls but I figured I'd pass it along for those who don't have those stores near you. They also had a lot of remanufactured KA small appliances (toasters, toaster ovens, juicers, etc, no stand mixers, food processers or other really spendy stuff that I saw) for $25 or so, unfortunately all in white as far as I could tell.

Happy shopping!

-LM

1. i'll be checking out Ross's tomorrow then. I just got a great deal on a suitcase there
and i am always willing to dig for the good stuff at Ross's, everyone i know hates that place except for me, you just have to mentally prepare yourself and go at the right time.

thanks for the heads up.

2. The Elk Grove Ross store sucks for some reason.
For some reason the lines there always take forever and their stuff always seems really picked-over. I like the one on Howe, since it's got the Marshalls next door too, and the checkout line isn't so glacial.

3. it's bad but if you go during the week around 10:00am you have the place to yourself.
thats about the only time i go and i always end up scoring a deal on something. Our TJ Maxx just blows, it;s like half the size of a regular one and the selection is for shit. Oh Elk Grove, i will not miss you.

6. Where the heck is the TJ Maxx? I didn't even know there was one out there.
I hear you. I mean, I used to live in South Sac, and we don't have ANY stores there anymore that aren't horrible, so I had to go out to Elk Grove to get much of anything. Groceries even, because the grocery stores by me were all nasty.

9. the TJ Maxx is right off Laguna where the homedepot is and Best Buy.
a lot of stuff is actually starting to close here, to be honest it's a bit scary and pretty sad.

13. it's easy to miss because it is so small, the biggest store besides the homedepot
and the best store imo is Bevmo, it's right around the corner and that place is always hopping.

4. Thank you...
I will head out and take a look.

I have a gift card from Solstice to BB&B also and am going to get at least one of the attachments.

7. No problem!
I figured I'd let you know since yours is the same color as mine, I know it's hard to find stuff that coordinates.

5. Marshall's is my favorite place to buy kitchen stuff.
I was just there yesterday, but didn't see anything I needed. I never see mixer stuff there though. x(

8. Oh, I wish they'd had actual attachments.
This was all just the other kitchenaid stuff in coordinating colors.

14. I thought about buying bibaby one of the Rachel Ray pans as a joke, but it'd be a bit much to ship.
And she might kill me. :scared:

15. Hehehe...
...I did buy a santoku knife because of Rachael Ray. But it's not a Fluri. It's a Henckels. She suggested the blade type, and I tried it out and liked it.

10. Oh, and if anybody's looking to join the cool people with stand mixers club
Mervyns has the 6 qt heavy duty pro mixer for $250, which is a good deal for the really powerful models.
