You can get snow in April in Texas.

Deepest snowfall San Angelo Tx, has ever had. Was April 9th. I saw it happen.

I work all night - when the day shift guy left he told me he wasn't sure he'd make it back in the morning (meaning I would have to work 24 hours) - I told him I will personally drive to his house and bring his sorry ass to work - f*** that! F***ing wuss.

San Angelo is in Central Texas. We usually got snow on the first few days of Spring Break.

40. I flew back from Atlanta late last night and drove home in snow!
I live near the DFW airport. Still have some in my front yard, although it's melting off almost as soon as the sun hits it.

Being from western NY state originally, I have some experience driving in winter weather. Most people here don't, so you can imagine what it does to traffic!

6. one of my favorite days ever in Austin
Edited on Mon Mar-03-08 08:19 PM by Skittles
ooh it would have been early eighties maybe - they put us up in the Driscoll at work because of the snow and ice and I sat in the window high up, watching cars slide into each other like bumper cars below. Fender benders mind you, no injuries or anything - it was really something to watch. I had a sparrow hawk resting in the room with me that I had scooped off the sidewalk and sneaked into the hotel (I took him the next day to the Nature Center - they said he had smacked into the building during the snow storm and had a concussion; he recovered). :)

11. Hey Skittles! Dr. D. is at a meeting in Dallas this week.
Somewhere near Irving. She was raising hell about the weather a few hours ago when we talked. I TOLD her it would snow in Dallas today. She just doesn't listen to her weatherman. Maybe I should have married an Air Force gal!

And we made it thru December, January, and February, all the way to March. Yesterday it was, what, 74 degrees here. Who woulda thunk it.

37. You might notice that Texas is a big state.
The Panhandle gets a lot of winter weather. It hardly ever snows in South Texas. The Dallas area is usually good for one or two snows each winter, plus maybe an ice storm or two.

44. I stood on the balcony of my apartment last night watching it...
I stood on the balcony of my apartment drinking hot chocolate and smoking my last (down to four a day) cigarette of the day-- it was truly a beautiful image. Very peaceful, very clean.

The odd contrast being that on Sunday, I was tempted to turn the air conditioner on... crazy stuff sometimes.
