First flake of snow I see, I'm OUTTA HERE!! |
|
I mean, c'mon people, it's JACKSON FREAKIN' MISSISSIPPI I'm talking about here! It doesn't snow here but about once a decade, so except for transplants like me (relatively few, I suspect), nobody here has a clue how to drive on snow. Hell, they can't even drive in the rain!
The forecast this afternoon is for 2" of snow. I know that doesn't sound like much. But in central Mississippi, that is a storm of biblical proportions!!
I see one flake - JUST ONE - and I'm going home before the loonies hit the streets!!

Snow flurries predicted on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain tonight. I remember it snowing in New Orleans 22 December 1989, just a few flurries. It was the end of the freaking driving world as we know it. Took me three hours to get home (35 miles) For a few flurries!?!

And two inches of snow is still a disaster waiting to happen. RUN! Get all the bread milk and toilet paper you need! The joke here is as soon as you see a flake or two look for the abandoned cars....
