3. He removed Castanets from his set-list when he found out it was on W's Ipod
He said it was "bad karma."

The man is a musical treasure.

I've been lucky enough to see him live twice:

In 1986 at a bar when he was in the True Believers and in 2001 at an under-attended outdoor festival.

If I had to use one word to describe him I'd use "transcendent"

With These Hands is a near-perfect album that should be in everyone's collection.

Sadly, it's not.

5. I hope you're being facetious
Los Lonely Boys did a version of it for the Por Vida CD that helped pay Escovedo's medical bills.

How was the show?

6. that was the story he told. it was great. 2 guys with guitars.
it was an intimate setting, an old church turned in to concert venue. several songs they stood and played at the front of the stage unmiced. he's a friend of the local community radio station, WMNF-FM.

2. Damn, Lucky!
For a period he was my audio.

I heard he had Hep C, I guess he's doing better. Great songwriter.

7. I think he is doing better.
He didn't have health insurance so they recorded a benefit CD (which is also very good). I guess they must have raised enough to get him the treatment he needed.
