It looks pretty calm out there right now, but we've already got several inches on the ground and they are expecting blizzard conditions through this afternoon.
I didn't have a bit of food in the house. I stopped by the grocery store and got some yesterday when the snow started to come down. Frozen pizzas, pizza rolls, milk, cereal, and beer. Just the essentials. :)
They were going to try to make us work tonight, but enough of us drivers stuck together that we forced them to reschedule for Sunday. We work for a non-union company, but we sure stuck together tonight. I'm proud of them.
Tell me about your experiences with non-union labor working together.

1. It's snowing like crazy in Columbus right now. |
|
The snow is already about two inches up my sliding glass door. Glad you didn't have to drive in this nastiness. :hi:
My FIL's unionized shop went on strike over contracts. They brought out the barbecue grills and lots of drinks(non alcoholic) while they were striking out front. None of the truck drivers would cross the line when they found out was going on, but they were more than happy to join in on the BBQ.
That's the best story I have even though it's not non-union. :)

When I started driving I told my union member mom and step-father that I would not cross a picket line with my truck. Most drivers are non-union now days, but that wasn't always the case, and there are enough long-timers around still that remember how things used to be.

Nah, my sleeping schedule is all messed up from last week.
I know rain is good luck on your wedding day, but I don't know about snow. Good luck to them!

8. Isn't it funny to read posts here from people about to go out and |
|
do something and you think "where the hell are they? isn't it snowing everywhere?" Here it's pouring. I think this is your storm with rain instead of snow. We have a high wind warning and a flood warning.
I'm glad you didn't have to work. Tomorrow will be better.
