1. I think I'm going to make taco salad tonight, or else eggs and sausage |
|
and french toast... There's something really appealing to me about "big breakfast" food for supper when it's cold out.
I haven't made shepherd's pie in yonks. Sounds yummy!

I can make my own dough, I just can't be bothered most of the time. Also, I don't have a recipe off the top of my head - it's basically just bread. My brother used to work in a really good pizza place and knows all of this stuff - I just do what people like him tell me.

The first is that it's cold and icky. The second is that we're moving in a month, and we have a freezer full of soups and chili and stews that Mr. Laurel has made this winter. We need to get eating if they're not going to go to waste.

A little sumpin' we call "white trash hash" (self referential, not mocking anyone else)--hamburger, corn, rice, tomatoes, onions, garlic, cheese. It'd be even trashier if I used the Velveeta called for in the recipe; I just use shredded cheese instead.
It's actually quite tasty and filling--good for this snowed-in night.

cooked ground beef onions celery stewed tomatoes onion soup -1 envelope elbow macaroni
some spices- whatever you wanted
mix everything together and simmer....
add water if you need to and salt and pepper to taste..
another cheap meal.... well used to be
1lb of cooked chop meat for every box of beef Rice-A-Roni
make R-A-R they way the directions say.....
before covering...add cooked ground beef.....
onion rolls are GREAT with this..

I enhanced my regular chili recipe with the addition of half a pound hot Italian sausage, combined with the ground beef, and a can of Heineken. Simmered it for five and a half hours then served with cheese and corn chips (optional but I like both in my chili), hot biscuits, and coleslaw. It was very thick and rich and just spicy enough. My SO loved it.

Spread onto two low-fat tortillas, topped with 1/4 cup fat-free shredded cheese.
I'll probably have a salad, too. No dressing.
That'll be eight Weight Watcher points. Leaves me room for a cup of fat-free ice cream later (3 more points).
