My cat is so cute in the early morning
She'll look outside for awhile, watching the birds as they get up. Then she comes running in to me to get some cuddles on my lap. Then we hear a squirrel run across the roof. Off she goes to make sure he doesn't come in the house (at least, that's what I tell her her job is). Then it's back with me for a bit, until the birds get noisy again...

What is your cat's morning routine?

1. My cats' morning routines
consist of doing whatever is necessary to make me get up and feed them. Walking on me and howling, mostly.

2. Same here.
I try to fake sleep, but that just makes them resort to face-pawing.

20. OMG, that was hilarious!
I just watched that, and my Madimi started staring at it and pawing the screen.

Gee, do you think she took it personally?

7. Tonka waits for me on the couch
He goes from the bed to the couch at 5:30 when I get up. He sits up and watches me while I make coffee and breakfast.. very patient :loveya: Then when Ben leaves about 6:00 me and Tonka lay on the cough together and watch TVLand and CNN, it's our Special Time :loveya:

9. My cats are annoying in the morning - their stomach alarms go off
and will use their most annoying meow to announce I need to get out of bed and feed them.

10. Cat is too smart for me.
I used to push her off the bed, forcefully, but not to ever hurt her. She is smart, now she just makes a flying leap and bites me on her way past. I have learned, just wake up and take care of kitty.

11.  My boys work in phases.
Phase 1: They send Peanut in to knead my head and purr loudly in my ear.

Phase 2: Peanut starts biting me. He gnaws on any uncovered body part; one morning it was my chin.

If I don't respond to either phase 1 or 2 - they move on to...
Phase 3: CAT FIGHT

Who needs an alarm clock when one has hungry kitties.

13. They both sit on me or beside me until it wakes me up. Then it's chow time.
They rule the morning. I'm definitely under them in the pecking order.

laid back to do that.

This morning I happened to be up early, so I enjoyed watching her run to check out the wild life.

16. What would I do without my feline alarm clock. Well before sunrise she starts
batting at my eyes with her paw. She does this very lightly but with claws out which is slightly disconcerting feeling claws grazing your eyeballs. Her goal is to open the eyes and have them STAY OPEN. Once this mission is accomplished some 45 minutes later she escorts me all around the house doing what I'm doing. Bathroom, breakfast, etc. Then I go to work and she goes back to bed which is what I suspect she wanted all along - cozy bed all to herself!

17. when my alarm goes off: stomp the bed, cram head into my hand, rub hand
with head. stomp the bed, stomp my bladder. That is the black cat

kiss my mouth. That is CatZilla

talk, talk talk. That is Lewis

yowl. That is Thomas the 6 toed Siamese mix

All follow me to kitchen and watch me make coffee
All follow me back to bathroom and assist me in emptying my body of excess waste.
Watch me take shower
black cat licks bottom of shower stall

All follow me back to kitchen , in hopes I will drop something good.

Now when we sleep with windows open, at least two of them will be in the window.

29. Thank you! The three brothers were born in our house. Thomas sometimes sounds
like a mountain lion! He has a deep bass vibrating purr, and can scream bloody murder. He is Chief Enforcer of all Invader Kitties. No Strange Cats Allowed in our area! But he is a very sweet kitty to his people and was very gentle and tolerant of the boys when they were rambunctious little babies.

the boys (and their elderly aunt Scamp, now deceased) as babies

Edited on Mon Mar-17-08 10:17 PM by Skittles
when I unlock my door I have to open slowly and hiss, "GET BACK! GET BACK!" because Riff Raff is champing to get outside. Then both cats proceed to bother me for "new food", hardly allowing me to even walk to put my coat away. Then after feeding them I settle down with a book and Clancy plops down on the bed to position himself so his tail will swipe across the pages. This routine happens almost daily. (Every other day I clean the cat boxes and one of them will take an obligatory dump in there as soon as I am finished). :o

21. She'll put the full weight of her front paws on my closed eyelids
and even bear down. That's the beginning. Then, Sophie'll sit with her front paws on my chest so it becomes difficult to breathe. When I open my eyes she's staring down at me. She doesn't care how many times I push her off, she continues til I sit up.

I freaking LOVE her!!!

22. Daughter got a Shelter Cat that had been abused. He was a morning 'purrsun'
He was SOOO happy when he woke up with his new family unit, he was just silly. And the morning sun was a gift he never took for granted either. That old cat taught me a lot about the value and joy of showing appreciation.

We buried him out on the east side of the house, that one morning when he didn't rise to snuggle and do his joyous morning greetings. We played "Here Comes the Sun" as the sun rose and we laid him to rest. The sun will always shine on him first.

Taken a few months before he passed, at a ripe old age- Enjoying the morning sun while camping in New Mexico and tourin with the 90 Pound Hound and us human cats

26. One of them usually starts squawking at an ungodly hour.
Sometimes my female gets affectionate and walks all over my head.

The younger boy is pretty lazy; he's usually been sleeping on my feet and kind of chirps when I kiss his head.

The older boy jumps up on the counter and waits for me to open the can of food. I do this first thing, before coffee or anything.

The girl wants to be fed on her scratch box in the living room.

What can I say; I do whatever my kitties tell me. :loveya:
