This was the worst Spring Break in a long, sad history of bad Spring Breaks.

Worse than the time I went to Key West -- and came down with a horrible flu (mucus in my throat so thick, whenever I coughed up a wad, there were bits of my last meal or two stuck in it) the day after arriving.

1. Had to have $750 worth of car repairs -- all four brake hoses replaced, a front end alignment, and two new front tires. Took it in Monday, didn't get it back until Thursday.

2. That meant I had to crash at my parents' for the week, since the best/cheapest place I know is down there. Cue much fighting with my mother. Mummy dearest is an arrogant, narcissistic, paranoid control freak who never shuts up and regularly vomits forth Republican propaganda. Fun.

3. One of the cords for my laptop's AC charger breaks at the start of the week, killing any hopes I had of getting some writing done.

4. As I'm leaving to go back to school, I try to do the nice thing and volunteer to return a movie for my mother. So I drop it off, start backing out...WHAM! Fender-bender with a pickup truck that was also reversing. Completely takes out my left fucking brake light -- so now I've got something else to replace. Christ, talk about Murphy's Law + Comedic Irony. (Fortunately, it's something I can do myself.) On the bright side, his truck was unscathed except for a tiny ding in the bumper, so we didn't see any reason to report it to our respective insurance companies -- so our rates won't go up.

Fate is a cruel, vindictive bitch, and she hates me.

3. Hell, I'd have preferred work.
Work, I could have at least told arrogant idiots to fuck off.
