Anyone here ever have a kidney stone? Had one on sunday night. Had to go to emergency. Had one about 6 years ago. Really sucks, can't get rid of the pain when it happens. Was on pain killers and drinking tons of water. This one was 4mm and finally passed during Obamas' great speech yesterday. I'll always remember where I was during his speech. Hope none of you ever have to go through a kidney stone attack.

about what childbirth is like. Except childbirth is more bearable, and you get a much better prize at the end.
I would have twins w/o drugs before I would have another stone, given the choice.

Can't believe you would go through the pain of having twins w/o drugs before having to have another stone. Do you rate the pain of having a stone near the pain of having a child?

10. pain of having stone far exceeds pain of childbirth. Not saying having |
|
a baby was a walk in the park, but the stone was a killer. babie's heads don't have sharp little edges, and a woman's body is actually designed to give birth. Stones are hell

I'ts not so much the pain, it's the hours of throwing up that I can't take again.

5. Had one once, but I got off easy. |

Almost no pain--just a lingering inability to get comfortable--and the stone passed the next day, almost without my knowing it.
The doctor doped me up, and I watched bad Jane Austen videos until the discomfort faded.

last one I passed that I caught was 6mm and the nastiest looking thing on the planet. I bemoan my fate in life to make a fuck load of these things, but I also have to remind myself that it is not cancer or anything like that.

13. Last May. Worst. Pain. Ever. |

I wanted to die.
I actually went to the urologist and found out what in my diet was causing the issue, and I think I've corrected things. The lab says so...

Some were passed with no pain, some were passed with brutal pain.
I've had where the urologist had to go up with a scope to fish them out, and I've also had a kidney stent placed for three weeks that wasn't very much fun.
I'm sorry you had the attack, and I hope you are feeling better soon. Remember, you are not alone...but they do indeed suck...the pain can make you cry.
