New pics of Mick the Border Collie -- post your dog pics here
Mick is just about to turn 10 months old. I have a couple pictures from his playdate yesterday.

Here he is all focused on Haruka, who was getting the ball for him.

And they're off! Mick with his girlfriends, Perky and Dare.

3. Yeah -- unfortunately, he wasn't so focused with his herding lesson earlier
He did one perfect outrun and fetched the sheep, then decided he was going to go exploring.

12. He's young.
My niece's husband grew up on a sheep ranch in Colorado with working dogs. He says they don't develop persistence till they're between 2 and 3. Until then they can be iffy...really good or totally airheaded or a combo. That's why they always pair a young dog with an older one when working.

2. I would, but somebody decided to keep the dog I was going to adopt
because, as we all know, what he needs is more dogs.

That's a semi-rhetorical question.

8. Here's some doggies
Max is no longer with me. It was becoming selfish on my part to keep him without being able to give him the time and attention he needed. So he went to live on a farm with a nice family with 3 kids and lots of running room.

The Late Nikita, she lived to be 13.

31. I use to have a dog
named Nikita - Dame Nikita von Erwin - to be exact (she was a registered G. Shepherd). We called her Kita.

Dumbest damn dog on the face of the earth. She ate an entire FROZEN chicken once. I still don't know how she did it!

psssssst - who's the cute guy? Think you can hook me up? ;)

14. I love to watch dogs work. The BBC used to have a show called "A Man and His Dog."
It was sheep herding trials from England and Wales. I used to get up at 7am on Sunday to watch it. My wife thought I was crazy!! (This was before we got Tivo...)

28. Our puppy, Charlee.
We just got her two weeks ago, when she was 7 weeks old, and already she's growing! She's already lost her puppy fat and is getting taller. She won't be a puppy much longer.

Your Border Collie was beautiful. I had a Collie/Sheperd mix that I lost 3 years ago, too. Best dog that I ever had...no dog that I ever get will compare to her.
