Paul Giamatti is a sensational actor
I'm just loving the HBO series "John Adams." He doesn't seem like an actor playing a part at all. I have the book too and got it out for a re-read. Good stuff!

1. How does he compare to Sir David Schwimmer?
:)

2. So far superior as to be embarrassing to Mr. Schwimmer
I liked your copycat thread, BTW!

4. Thanks - I'm ensconced in my house
Had to go to PT and do some shopping afterward, but am home for the duration now. I grew up in Kansas, and we didn't have a basement (we don't have one here in Texas, either - the soil is too weird for basements) - whenever tornado sirens went off Mom made us haul ass to the neighbors' house, which I will never forget! Once I was rounding the corner for my bedroom so I could get dressed (I was in my jammies) and ran into the fan and cut my toe - thanks, Mom!

6. We don't see too many in NY where I am, but one year...
we had 3 tornadic lines come through that caused some deaths. I don't know if I could ever get used to the possibility of those things....

Bless your mom for looking out for you!

9. She was extra afraid because she was chased in the car by the 1958 El Dorado tornado
It hit the park behind our house - she had my siblings piled in the car and was driving like a maniac! I wasn't born until 1962, but this story was passed down to me through the years. I've never actually seen a tornado, but I was living in Wichita during the 1991 Andover tornado in which 19 people were killed, and it's scary stuff to know that's happening nearby.

13. Driving in a car, trying to outrun a tornado, is probably one of....
the most frightening things I can imagine.

5. My dear DeposeTheBoyKing!
Isn't he amazing?

I really feel as though he is NOT acting...

He's doing such a natural job!

And Laura Linney is also awesome as his wife...

:hi:

7. I wholeheartedly agree!
I am recording it (which I really don't need to do because I can see it On Demand, but oh well) and am just thoroughly enjoying watching it! I'm a little behind and just watched the second episode last night while the fourth one was recording - Mr. DTBK kept trying to talk to me and I did not want to be disturbed!

10. I'll have to put "Sideways" in our Netflix queue
I had resisted because I thought it sounded silly, but I really admire his work and want to see that movie now. I loved him in "The Illusionist," too. I never knew his dad was briefly baseball commissioner, either.

12. One of BoyMidlo's friends is an extra in that movie. It was filmed here.
We don't have HBO, so I'll have to wait for the DVD.

14. Cool!
Do you know what scene(s) he was in? Not that I'd likely see him distinctly, but it'd be nice to know.

in a brown costume, long blond hair walking around the market.

20. Yes, I see him as Adams and not as the actor.
The casting of the show is perfect. I'm enjoying it very much.
