SPRINGSTEEN last Night! (FANTASTIC!) |
|
20 bucks. Floor (GA) seats, got pretty damn close. Changed his set list quite a bit since October except fo the newer songs. Spirits in the Night to open, a song I have not seen him do since 78 I don't think. Rosalita is back and SMOKED. RAMROD! Holy crap! he played a song off of every album and in most cases, not the song you would expect (Ramrod, No Surrender). A LOT MORE energy than the October show. Now the songs off Magic are fully ALIVE and are not "New Songs" anymore. Lots more guitar rock kind of show this time around. Thought (like I always do)that there should have been a break (like the old days)but still about 21/2 hours of pure heat.
And they played Backstreets!
Seiously if you are in San Jose, SOCAL or anywhere he is playing go to the show. Tickets are plentiful outside the venues. (Huge hint, he is consistently 40 minutes late to the stage so wait, wait wait to make a deal for tickets). And if you are not a total wussie, get the GA floor tickets. It is actually like being at a concert down there.

3. OK, I'm gonna reply because I saw "Murder Incorporated" on the set list... |
|
...the Boss has worn me out on a few of his oldies, and I've always been more of an E Street Band fan than a Ghost of Tom Joad or Seeger Sessions fan (although I DID like Nebraska)...and you can take the non-E Street "Human Touch" and "Lucky Town" and toss 'em, except for a handful of songs...
...but Murder Incorporated?
NOW yer talkin...

4. The "oldies" he did play were all great.... |
|
It almost seemed like he was avoiding the "Hits" in favor of lesser known gems from most of his albums. Backstreets! No Surrender instead of Dancin or Hungry Heart.....

Nice set! Old stuff like "Sherry Darling", "Because the Night", "Promised Land", "Backstreets"-- that I absolutely adore!
Now how did you get $20 tickets-- from a scalper who had given up hope of selling?
Last time I saw Bruce, at Giants Stadium in Jersey, I think I paid about $250 for a pair on ebay. OY!!!

But someone that has extras. the closer it ges to showtime the cheaper they are....I have never paid face for anything at a arena for a long time.. Sat in row J for the Stones once for 20 bucks and the tickets said $230.00 on it. Last night if I would have waited anotehr 20 minutes there would have been freebies all over.
And the general admisssion on the floor means you don't need seats together or good seats....

I've never seen him, but would love to. My favorite recording by him is a bootleg of the first performance of American Skin, live in Atlanta. Even with the lousy sound quality, it just shakes me in my soul.

7. I saw him a loooong time ago at Freedom Hall in Louisville... |
|
...on the Born In The USA tour. Almost 5 hours of The Boss. I don't think anyone works harder on stage than he does.

8. that's right Bennyboy, rub it in... |

Still hoping he'll get within 500 miles of Albuquerque ( Phoenix, Denver...)I've GOT to see the E Street Band at least once more in my life. ( have only seen them 5 times, but thankful I saw those; he's only been to Albuquerque once, and that was solo, which was still awesome) . Seen them 3 times in Chicago in the seventies, once in Denver ( Born in the USA) and most recently Phoenix 2002...I love New Mexico (for the most part) but the isolation can be a drawback sometimes.

10. Just go to the venue and get a cheapie.... |
|
Seriously. The more sold out the event is, the les people will show up looking. Most peeps won't waste time on things that are not sure things. So you will be the only one there looking and at every stop on this tour there have been handfuls of tickets available. Just wait till about the announced show time and the sellers will get antsya nd make deals....Get floors and you are in.
