Poll question: What to do with the kitty? An opinion poll
Oh wow, got a call from a dear friend in Alabama and she is gonna have a big celebration for her 50th birthday in June. She wanted to know if I thought I could get down there for it. Not only can I get down there ,but the family is going to come with me. It is gonna be a family car vacation!!!

Now the dilemma comes. What to do with Chaucer D Cat. He's 14 lbs of neutered male spender, and he does NOT like car rides. He's not going on this trip and I need to decide what to do with him.

He gets lonely when we are gone for even a weekend.

I do not like to leave him alone for too long because he is a major pig about his cat food. I have visions of him eating 10 days worth of cat food by day two.

That litter box is gonna get just NASTY.

What to do with the cat?

1. Having him stay at home is the best of the options
He's not going to like any of them. At least with this option, he will be in his own home and feel safe, although lonely.

2. Have an in house sitter. It's much less traumatic than the other options.

3. In house sitter seems the way to go...
Less stressful on the cat, and it would be best if its a family member or close friend that you trust.

4. My cats hate when we go on vacation and leave them with the cat sitter

But that's the best option. They freak out if we take them away from their environment.
