American Idol is the worst thing to happen to music and culture since Lou Pearlman

4. you are right...
the talent show is a horrid thing... no precedent for THAT. talent shows have killed broadway, destroyed the heartland, and totally destroyed education in america...
:sarcasm:

7. I don't particularly like American Idol either... but to compare it to Pearlman is madness.
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 11:06 AM by DarkTirade
Pearlman force-fed crap to the public. Idol lets people choose what crap is most appealing to them before it puts them on the market.

Slightly off topic... but my old voice teacher taught one of the Backstreet Boys. She doesn't like to admit it though. :P

love the 'crapology' - a little-known science with broad implications and uses.

5. Ava. It is all your fault...you did not call and cast your vote for him --
:D :hi:

It seems that rockers do not fare well on this show

I liked him, too :pals:

6. LOL
i think that at this stage of the competition there are those candidates who are 'so good' that often the voter overlooks them... votes for the one they think will be voted off without their vote

(did that make any sense at all)?

12. it made perfect sense...everybody thinks that everybody else
will be voting for THAT person so, I won't need to.

I have to admit this is my first season to watch this show. I am hooked and I have a huge crush on Simon Cowell. I think he is so cute the way he blushes and while he is very blunt, I usually (not always) agree with what he is saying.

I see you are finding out that we have some very judgmental people on here.

I have found hide thread to be a very useful feature.:hi:

10. Personally, I am outraged that Kristy Lee is still on the show.
Down with Kristy Lee!!!!

Did you see Michael Johns on Leno? He joked that he was voted off because he "wore an ascot". Then he sang a duet with Gene Simmons. I think he'll be fine.

hate today's country music, so i hate kristy lee, too- her personality irritates the bejesus out of me.

but gotta admit, she has improved (her voice, performance) substantially the last couple of shows.
