Iz cooking dinner for me...
Sniffa ate earlier, but I'm sure there will be leftovers. I'm making Fettucine, tossed with olive oil, garlic, onion, green pepper, accompanied by my leftover Prime Rib Eye from last night's dinner out. :9

This is your latest installment of Bi_baby's crappy menus™

:hi:

1. Cooking is fun

At the Alfred, I had occasional meetings with an occupational therapist. For some weeks I was in intensive care so I lost my independence to a large extent, see. So, afterwards, as I was transferred to the respiratory ward, an O.T. would show herself with certain ingredients in which I would prepare for a particular food. A pizza, scrambled eggs, and a toasted sandwich. The pizza was the first and the most tasty - salami, ham, cheese, mushrooms (which I hardly ever taste, but they worked well here) and paste all placed onto English muffins. Chop, chop, chop, place, and then she took it away to the stove, which I cannot approach when active as I'd blow up with the pure oxygen being pumped at all hours. :D

I had pasta recently. What I like best is to keep it simple, plain spaghetti with a scattering of garlic spice. Saying that, I can't recall trying fettucine.

7. I used to joke that...
I lived on Pizza Delivery and Chinese take out. The sad part is that I wasn't kidding. I am glad those days are over.

I wasn't so dissimilar. But then I discovered sushi (sprightly infomercial music now kicks in) and thus discovered a food which can be indulged in with delight without fear and the danger of stacking it on. Of course, maybe you dislike this food, so this could be a useless contribution, but if not, I'd recommend that you at least try it once.

3. We had "Welfare Casserole"
This consists of cooked white rice mixed with cream of chicken and cream of broccoli soups, then mixing in a can of cooked "mixed vegetables", then placing salted, peppered b/s chicken breasts in it, covering, and baking until done.

Not as bad as some other welfare casseroles I've had--the Sloppy Joe mix one that my Mom came up with was especially awful.
