The next time I decide to host a party at my house, please stop me, using force if needed. |
|
That was noisy, and expensive. Fun though.
The best part was after everybody left and I got to take a nap. :)
LeftyKid is now the proud owner of: enough nerf weapons, plus extra gear like targets and laser sights (yes, really) to conquer a foam continent, enough model rocketry equipment to recreate the entire Apollo program, two sets of camping gear, three new computer games, a pitching machine, enough books to supply a small school's library, a noisy electronic dinosaur he can take apart and reassemble, even more Lego sets, and a partridge in a pear tree. And that's not counting the stuff that went to his Dad's house.

3. Toys now are so much cooler than when I was a kid. |
|
Or maybe he just gets better stuff because he's the only grandkid on both sides. Either way, he's sooooo spoiled.

I did have some model rockets when I was a kid, they were hella fun. I learned how to "arm" them with makeshift "warheads"

5. He got so many Legos for giftmas. |
|
They had the really big sets at Grocery Outlet for $15, and the smaller ones for $5-10 ish, and he was on a huge Lego kick, so he got a ton of them from me.

11. not quite as bad as the year he got tired opening Christmas presents and started crying. |
|
That sucked, because we had to calm him down long enough for him to find his new bike. Then he was okay. :D
I'll tell him Happy Seventh for ya.

9. You are not recruiting LeftyKid for The Other Evil Empire. |
|
Anyhow, shouldn't you be burying the bodies of your brain eating zombie pibble hoarde's latest juvenile victims?

Better that less evidence is left behind.
I get challenged to fewer fistfights via PM that way.

10. I quit hosting kid parties several years ago |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-19-08 09:14 PM by tigereye
now we go to the local cyber cafe and the kids play computer games together (pre-teens) - that is the big thing around here.
Mostly after those parties I used to host when my son was smaller, I needed a beer, stat. It's great not to have to chase small ones around the table and make up party games...
You have my empathy.

13. We had a good time. I just hate crowds and noise, and got both. |
|
And I had to clean up my house. :O
Maybe next year we'll just go to the park.
