not really any reason to. just been doing some classes at the apple store, and the photoshop class was pretty much stuff i already know. gonna do the advanced class next week. if that is equally unchallenging, i am thinking i might try to get certified. there is a place near here that does 2 and 3 day classes for certification.
so, anybody?

1. Everyone I've ever asked about it has said that a strong portfolio is the most important
thing you can have. And I agree. Anyone can learn how to use Photoshop, whether or not they can actually do anything good with it is what counts.

2. i think it is mostly just that i am self taught, and
an artist who dropped out of art school. i think about going back to school now that my kids are big, but it seems kinda silly at 53. so, it would be sort of a sorry substitute for that diploma. i think i could do the indesign, too, with a 2 day class. just because.

10. Certified?
I took a computer imaging class last semester that was essentially Photoshop 101, but I don't know anything about certification.

11. adobe has a testing program.
you can get certified in pretty much any adobe program. and there are different levels for knowing multiple programs. the thing that got me thinking about it is that i have been doing some training through apple. the trainer thought that having that photoshop cert was a good thing. i guess apple wants them. they train their people, but they try to get people that already know stuff. they don't do all that much with third party software, but they sell adobe, so they teach that.

13. i love swampie, but
there is a lot more to photoshop, especially color control and correction, print preflight, lotta lotta stuff.
one thing that i want to take the class for is that i know a lot, but i have only a vague idea of how much i don't know.
afaik, he does it for fun, and is actually a musician. hard to get to the hard core stuff if you don't use it in a production setting.
