For $100k+ you can own Jenny's Phone number
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3077991790&category=1503

Anyone remember that cheesy song from the 80's by Tommy TuTune called "Jenny/867-5309". I do because I was just starting college and 867 was the phone number for my college town and that song came out. Believe me, we were drunk freshman and eventually that number got disconnected.

Anyhow, someone is putting that number up for bid on EBAY in the NYC area.

You can own the Jenny number, bids are already over $100,000

2. It was a phone number
for an elementary school in Gastonia, NC as well. They also had to change their number when that song came out. I'm thinking I really wouldn't want that phone number!

4. I'm trying to think of a good reason to have that number...
...maybe if you're a business to generate phone traffic...

But as a personal number? No freaking way - I hate phone calls.

5. How can you own a phone number?
How can a private individual own a phone number? Don't phone numbers belong to AT&T?

Ok..I may be a bit dense here. Sorry.

Terry

6. all I know is I would escrow the money until the number was transferred
if I was foolish enough to spend that much money on a damn phone number.
