Travis and Dick and Katie and the storm chasers
have been following the red blobs on the radar for nearly two hours now. Lots of pics of wall clouds, and rotation and tornado funnels and just plain old scary looking clouds.

Looks like Tulsa is gonna miss the worst of the storms - at least this round. I hear another round is supposed to come through after midnight.

Looks like some folks are getting pounded tonight. In addition to the tornados I've heard multiple reports of SOFTBALL size hail.....

5. Thanks. It got worse as it moved up past Pawnee, but it looks...
like it was mainly on the Osage.

6. Did you have large hail?
I can't imagine what kind of damage softball size hail does.

The large golf ball size stuff I had a few years back was bad enough.

9. Ok, here's a funny story about our hail tonight:
I'm looking outside and its coming down dime sized, some quarter sized. I comment to wife, "Wow, that one is golf ball sized." Thats because it was a golf ball not hail. Oops.

2. I'm sure my nephew's out chasing
He's in Tulsa and some of his video has been on CNN and the Weather Channel. Scares my sister to death...

Be safe out there y'all...

3. Does he chase for
one of the local tv stations?

Tell your sister there is a long tradition of folks chasing storms here. If you have the right equipment and understand the storms then it can be done fairly safely. There's a reason they call 'em storm chasers. The danger of course is not knowing the roads and ending up in a position that puts one in front of the path of the storm instead of behind it.

I frickin HATE storm season....hate it more every year....

7. He's still in college
he chases with another guy and if they have video or photos, they sell them to local stations and even national ones. I think this is his 4th year to chase.

My sister was a nervous wreck when they moved there over 15 years ago. The doctor had to prescribe tranquilizers for the spring storm season...

8. I have to tranquilize
one of my two small dogs. Otherwise the poor puppy hides under the end table in the corner of the living room and paws at the sheetrock. He shakes all over and is frantic to get away. The other dog is alert but mostly unfazed.

Me? I've learned a lot about the storms and I pay attention to the weather coverage until I feel fairly certain my area is clear. For the most part we've got some good tv weather folks here.

10. You really do have good weather forecasters there
I was on the phone with my sister when the OKC tornado struck and was on it's way to Tulsa. Her husband works at a hospital with a basement. They were packing up to go down there. She was telling me about the street level radar (unheard of up here until last year)and how accurate they are.
