Well, I suppose it had to happen...
The logjam is breaking up...

I am again writing poetry!

It's not great, not yet...

But at least I'm writing...

I've been stuck for the last two weeks, wordless...

Stymied, stuck...

But now it's over!

I am so fucking relieved!

:woohoo:

1. Blackmail!!!
Hehehe... no love, it's beautiful. Nice cadence, the metre is an old prom dress after the bows are torn off with joyfull abandon.
I've been there before. ;)

Hey... wanna hear something I wrote in High School?

3. LoL... It's typical of the 'despondent teen'
"Rain"

"Rain wash away the cold with cold rain,
Like torment by torture and torture by shame.
Shame came to me on a cold horse named Grey,
She rode through my sunlight and deadened my day.
She led me high to a stone house she'd built,
Wrought of black rock and cemented with guilt.
She led me inside and she gave me the key,
I stabbed and I twisted and I set myself free."

Oh, I've become more sophisticated since those simple moribund days, but this one is a touchstone for my, now more sophisticated, metre, cadence, rhyme, imagery... you name it. I have several touchstones, but the 'light/dark' dichotomy always seems to refer back to 'Rain'. Read between the lines, and it's a 'happy' ending.

So... what's something you're proud of?

4. Ah, I like that!
Sorry, I had to step away for a moment...

Here:

Have you ever

Loved someone so much

That every breath is a hymn of praise?

I have

And the words just pour out of me

Every breath sings

My throat catches with joy

My heartbeat rises

And I tremble

For he has opened the door

And so much of what I am

Is because of him...

8. Pretty and heartfelt.
I love it. Heck, I wish I could feel that way too.

It's well-known that poets in love don't sell very well though. Have you ever noticed?

Why is that?

A friend of mine does cutting-edge stuff. The 2005 US poet-laureate gave him very high praise for this one;

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1931320012

I have a copy. It changed the way I look at poetry.

I loved William Carlos Williams too... wow, now that I think of it, I'm starting to remember so many!

Thanks for waking me love.
I must sleep now that I've woken.
Or I will not dream of tomorrow.

Night love!

5. HEY! Watch the potty mouth!!

Glad to hear it, Peggy. The long winter has passed here in Saginaw, Michigan. We're out working in the yard and enjoying the sunlight here at the 43rd parallel (well, not at 3 am -- but you know what I mean).
Also, I bumped into an old editor/publisher buddy of mine who I worked for five or so years ago. We had a falling out then, but all seems to be forgiven all around now -- he wants me to drop by the office to chat, so it looks like I'll be doing some (sports) writing again myself soon.
John
So all is well, even though I wish my kitchen was as cool as yours.

6. What potty mouth? Oh..........that!
Glad to hear things are better for you...

It is so nice to be writing about things that make you happy!

I am truly lucky with my kitchen...I've never had such a nice one...

But then, I never thought I'd be lucky enough to have a custom house, either...

You dropped the F-bomb AGAIN!

Which means I expect prolific use of it in future poems!

Yup, I did...

But I think you'll be disappointed if you expect to see it in any poems...

I really don't do that!

LOL!

And now it's late, and I'm tired...

Time to sleep....

See you tomorrow, I hope...
