20. Gotta admit, they look great on the porch. The front porch is one of the reasons
I'll leave this house only in a pine box. I love to have my coffee out there first thing in the AM.

You can put yours in the house, and let him sit out in the heat and humidity with the bugs!

8. Want.
I'll also need a house with a washer dryer hookup. Considering the current state of the CA housing market, the washer might be harder to get. :P

15. We have one washer and TWO dryers
All together, in usefulness, they add up to almost a half a washer and dryer.

39. Haha, that reminds me of the washers and dryers at my apartment complex
Using them is kind of like playing Russian roulette... well, actually the odds are even worse that things will work out for you! There are four washers and four dryers, but every time I use them at least one and usually two aren't working (and I usually do three loads at once)- and you never know which ones are going to be screwed up until they've already taken your 75-cents!

10. i have a washer like that and i love it, i would have been happy if that was a gift.
that sounds pretty wrong but if loving a washer is wrong then i don't want to be right! The dryer is also fanfuckingtastic.

12. I have one too...
and you're right, they're great.
My mother always got small appliances for Mother's Day and some of them were very dorky items, like an electric carving knife. It was always exciting to see what new gadget my father picked out.

Darn wiki didn't have a picture of a ringer washer, only these front-loading wonders.

26. As someone who doesn't have a washer/dryer/car, and thus has to
hump a rucksack full of clothes, on foot, between my house and the nearest laundromat several times a week...if I had a husband and he gave me that, I would return the favor with steak-and-a-BJ. A new mattress and box-spring set would get him the same gift every day for a MONTH. Just sayin'.

And, I can't imagine sclepping laundry any more. I'm getting so creeky, just folding it puts me in the mind for a nap.

28. Hey you!
I can say one positive thing about toting laundry between here and the 'mat--my legs are getting into excellent shape! Really it's the lost time I hate the most, I think. Time is one of those things that is in short supply in my world, and anything that saves me time is like manna from Heaven itself.

Pssst...did he *really* get you rocking chairs? Man oh man. Does he "get" the insinuation, or is it a typical male over-the-head thing? lol

29. He did. I asked for them.

They're really nice quality and the ones we had have seen better days. I love to sit on the front porch, and since I'm at the point in my life where I don't really want anything for myself, I usually ask him to get me stuff for the house. He does the same.

With three kids, it's hard to justify spending money on stuff you'll never use, so I'm trying to be practical.

31. Do you guys have a porch swing?
We used to have one when we lived on our farm in Virginia, and I just looooved that thing. I'd lay down on it with a book and just let the wind rock me gently for hours.

I miss Virginia so much sometimes. I really wish we could have stayed there.

in the breeze.

We're trying to get the house gussied up for TM's graduation next month, but I am definitely going to mention a swing to him.

 backatcha, sweetie!

32. The front porch is the main reason I bought this house.
It had everything else we needed, right # of bedrooms, etc., but I love the porch. Sitting out there first thing in the morning having coffee is one of my favorite things to do.

He reads out there a lot during the day, but the morning is my absolutely favorite time to be there.
