How am I supposed to act when I find out my gf is pregnant? jubilant? ecstatic? maybe if it was planned, but it was not. uggh.. since you aren't in this situation.. you have no idea what I am thinking right now, mmk?

10. I'm calling shenannigans.
First of all, urine pregnancy tests are generally done in the AM when urine is most concentrated.

Second of all, I don't buy that, when you come home and find your gf doing a pregnancy test and yourself contemplating fatherhood, your first thought is to tell a website you only joined a few months ago, before you even get the results. That just doesn't make sense.

Third, if your response to the positive test was really to update said website you only joined in February, and go to the store, rather than talking with your gf to make sure she's okay, you're either lying or she should kick your ass. For her sake, I'm hoping this is just a stupid attempt to create drama.

Actually, it sounds like something I'd do. But I'm an ass. So, no. Normal, healthy people would do something else.

31. Even if he is new, he's been around a few days
People post shit about their lives all the time in here. Maybe the kid just needed someone to talk to who wasn't likely to come down hard on him (which, in this case, was a bad idea).

14. I've been in that situation. My advice? See below.
Be a fucking man, would you? Stop bitching and whining and asking questions; just pull up your fucking socks, and get used to the reality that you're going to be a father fairly soon, like it or not.

Whether things work out for you and your girlfriend in the long run or not, you are still going to be a father.

Don't you dare punk out on that responsibility. You are 50% responsible for that new life that's been created.

Welcome to the real world.

(PS: On a positive note, kids are great. Having one can be more fun than you've ever imagined anything could be, if you'll let that happen.)

I'd also add that if it's a boy, you need to name him Mario.

21. Why "Mario?" What if they're not Italian? My vote would be what I named one of my dogs:
"Dammit."

That way, they could go through 18+ years of saying things like "Dammit, you need to have your diaper changed, don't you?" and "Time to get up and get ready for school, Dammit," followed by "Don't you think it's time you got a real job, Dammit?"

It has possibilities, yes?

29. After Mario Chalmers, the KU guard who hit a buzzer-beater 3 pointer
to put the national championship game into overtime, ultimately leading to KU's victory.

The original poster is from Lawrence, KS.

Although since 2 out of 3 boys in Lawrence born in the next year will be named Mario, Dammit might be a good alternative.

26. No, you CANNOT delete. I want to see what you had to say, because
it's a rare occasion lately for me to spend half an hour at DU, and I could use the laughs that I'm sure I'd have reading your reply to that highly-suspect OP.

Being serious here. Not to mention kicking the thread to see whatever further well-deserved toasting the OP will get, especially considering his non-response to the responses to his dramatic OP.

I'm tired. I hope this thread turns amusing soon, because I gotta go to bed before long.

30. I'm sure you're really upset right now
I've never been in that situation, but my suggestion would be, try to get some rest, then tomorrow take your gf to Planned Parenthood and get a real pregnancy test. When you know for sure, then you can talk about your options.

32. How does *she* feel about it?
If this was unplanned, and - more importantly - undesired rather than just mistimed, she has three options. All of them suck. It's up to her - with your help - to decide which one sucks the least.

Go directly to Planned Parenthood. Do not pass "Go". eom
