5. Defer to the experts...

alert on any post that you think is in some way inappropriate. Let the admins and moderators deal with it. That's what they're there for. It's not an easy job to get and they've been chosen to do it because they're good at it. I know I couldn't do it.

Trolls are like strays, if you don't feed them they go away. I know that I am not the best example of this as I cannot help arguing with people, but do as I say not as I do.
