14. *lol* I used to say that a LOT, and once my oldest called my MOM |
|
a douchebag (daughter was about 2 at the time) and fortunately, couldn't always speak REAL clearly, so I told Mom the baby'd been calling people "dirtbags" a lot lately (*whew!*) *lol*

Nobody heard me, but if my mom had heard me, I'd have gotten a slap. Some folks would see that as a very un-pc derogatory term.

I jokingly told that to one of my managers at work yesterday. I said, "Jeez, Sean, you're such an ass-jack." He paused and looked at me and said, "Did you just call me an ass-jack? That's AWESOME!" He proceeded to laugh for a minute, so I don't think he was offended.

It sounds like something Christopher Hitchens would say at the table when asked how he enjoyed the dinner your mother had prepared. It's so stunningly blunt and harsh it's comical.

Since I've got to cut back on the nasty swears since the kiddo learns words easy now, I needed something too long for him to learn but long and pleasurable enough to say, something you can really get into as you wave your fist at other drivers, that it still satisfies.
This phrase has been a good one I use lately.

31. funny story about a derogatory term I used to use - |
|
this was 11-12 years ago. My youngest daughter was 4. We went to see "101 Dalmatians" (Glenn Close version) with our friends and their kids. There's a scene in the movie at Christmastime, when the owners are giving all the puppies new collars as their Xmas presents. They call out each puppy's name, then give him/her the present. One puppy has a black-tipped tail and is named Dipstick. Owner says the name, and daughter pipes up in her sweet little high-pitched four-year-old voice "what's his name? Dipshit? Dipshit?" Two young teens sitting in front of us turned around to look at her and were totally cracking up, while I'm saying "shhhh" and either "Dipstick" or "I'll tell you later" (memory fails me on this detail).
Old friend has a similar story - while out driving one night with young son in car, another driver cut him off. My friend says "you ass!", and young son pipes up "Not ass, daddy - ass-HOLE!"

It's short, it's descriptive, it's not racially/gender biased, it's fit for mixed company and the ears of small children.
When I'm really, really ticked off, a "ni kulturni" uttered with a curled lip expresses my disgust. It's close to the ultimate insult in Russian - meaning ill-mannered, barbaric, uncouth and inconsiderate.
Tim Russert and Dana Perino are jerks. Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly are ni kulturni.

38. JAY! Is a Jay..ay..ay-OH! |
|
Jay-Oh come and me want to say something-- Jay-is to oh, you should do that at home-- Jay--is a jay is a jay is a jay is a jay-oh...
With accompanying hand motion. (Yes, I have done this behind the wheel--where I usually run into a need to cuss out my fellow motorists who should have both hands on the wheel.)
Not that I believe there is anything wrong with the basic act of, erm, j-o-ing. But there is a time and a place for things, I always say.
