Cheer Me Up - In A Far Right Fundamentalist Town
Let me tell you al a story bout a man named Mark
He moved to Idaho where they all believe in Eden and Noah's Ark

And then one day he was talkin bout Darwin
They all got up and walked away snarlin

Mean that is - Vicious Mean

So the first thing you know ol Mark's an Evil man
The whole place wants to put him in the frying pan

So what Marks asking for is a ride out of here
Were they don't hate liberals and they don't hate queers

Toss all these hillbilly's in the garbage can
and ship me off to frisco and send me to Esalen.

9. really?
I thought it was a satire on corporate America that some Du-er came up with.

If it's for real...wow, I just don't know what to say to that.

13. Found it in the New York Times Magazine...
In an article on the takeover of small businesses by Fundies.

The name of the original painting is "Unending Riches."

14. Fundamentalist town
I live in a fundamentalist COUNTY.I think they don't know what
a democrat is!They don't know that there are other religions.
My grandma would cross the street to walk on the other side if
she saw a Catholic coming towards her. Up until a few years
ago, they had a posse here.Maybe fundamental isn't the right
word.
I kind of believe in eden and all that stuff, evolution also,
but I listen to other ideas without getting evil mouthed about
it.:tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat:

15. Eden and Evolution - Explain
I get your drift man, but I kind of like the makin fun of it. The real evil is in telling people lies about salvation, selling instant changes in health and life that are lies, telling people they will burn in hell, promising people paradise to control them, selling magic underwear, planets to rule over, marginalizing women, practicing crusades and generally doing the opposite of what Christ taught. And, if there is an ANTICHRIST it is the religious right and fundamentalism
