I bought my neighbors dog for $50.00 today

They were neglecting and abusing her. She’s a Siberian Husky and sweet as anything. They kept her tied to a damn tree outside their front door, and yesterday, I think the woman kicked the dog, and she‘s malnourished, skin and bones really. So, I went over today and offered them $50.00 for her and they took it. I couldn’t really afford it but I just couldn’t stand it any more. Anyway, I placed an ad in the classified to try and find her a decent home.

1. Good for you!!!! Yeah!!!! Please be careful....
with your ad. A lot of dog fighters will often get dogs from ads like that and then use the dogs as bait. I don't know if you live in a big city or a small town, but please check out whoever answers your ad...in fact you might see if there is a rescue group in your area that will help you find a good home.

Thank you so much for liberating that dog!

2. Here are some groups that might help in re-homing her.

3. I've been tempting at times

to make such a measure, but I'm cognizant that with 2 dogs, two cats, I cannot take on anymore. I did call the Humane Society about a neighbor's beagle who was on a leash and out in 20 degree weather without a doghouse, food, or clear water (not ice). If we leave our pooches outside in that kind of weather, we always have doghouses w/palettes, straw, a heated water bowl, and fresh food.

We noticed the family finally put up a small fence and gate. I still hear the dog cry when it is winter, but I know they are being better to it by not keeping it on a leash tied to a tree, and I do see them walk their dog more often. It doesn't look malnourished or as unhappy.

5. thank you. I took my neighbor's dog away when I was in college --
I should have kept her, I wish I could have kept her, but I got into grad school and just couldn't deal with an untrained, full grown Rottweiler. So I placed her through a Rottie rescue group.

Thank you for what you did. It is wonderful! :yourock:

6. What a great thing to do.
The first dog my family ever had was a Siberian husky. She had the sweetest disposition. After 50 years, I still miss her.

You just got 1000 karma points.

8. I got your $50 refund. No, really.
You find that dog a proper home, and if it was a hardship, I've got a check for you for $50.

You've done a fantastic thing for that dog. Please screen potential adopters carefully, and be wary of folks that would seek to be unkind.

Again, I'm here in front of thousands with a guarantee of reimbursement. Thank you.
