Let me get this straight--I have to wait until June 13 for my rebate? |
|
I used TaxAct online to file and received my refund via direct deposit. So why does it make sense for the IRS to send my rebate in the form of a paper check?

1. I e-filed and I've already got the rebate via direct deposit |
|
Haven't gotten my refund yet, though. It doesn't make sense that you're getting yours through the mail.

2. Did you e-file by yourself or through a service? |
|
TaxAct charges a nominal fee (I don't mind, because it's still worth it), and I think that the fee is what creates the holdup, if I'm I'm reading the IRS site correctly.
Doh!

Didn't you file early? AFAIK, you should have gotten a check direct deposit early..Maybe your SS number is in the last batch? Or couse this is the IRS we are talking about SENSE and LOGIC do not enter into the picture...

4. Oh, I got my refund way early |
|
But the rebate appears to be held up. At any rate, I sure as heck haven't received any big wads of cash in the last couple of weeks...

I used TaxAct to e-file for free.I even got my refund check direct deposited in April.I did'nt have any fees taken out of my IRS refund check nor did I have to pay from my Debit or credit card. If you had the fees for the tax preparer's money taken from your tax refund then you will get a paper check. But I don't think that is the case with TaxAct users. Its more with people who used TurboTax.

6. Actually, I *did* have the fee taken from my refund. Maybe that's why I'm screwn. |
|
Oh well. At least we're all getting free money that will never have a negative impact on the economy, right?

7. Well at least you now know. |

Some people are screwn because they were counting on that money for the past couple of weeks for bills, gas money and food.I think its damn sad that this is a sign of how bad things are.I can finally afford new tires for my car. The rest is for food and gas.
