Were you stoned the first time you heard stairway to heaven?
I just finished reading John Bonham: A Thunder of Drums
Great biography with excellent analysis of the drum tracks on most songs on their records.

I started reading the analysis of the "Stairway" drum track (which doesn't come in until 4:00 into the song) while listening to it on headphones.
I hadn't listened to it in a while, but something about listening to it while isolating separate instrument sections put me back in my Toyota, parked in the Shriner's club back lot late at night with my best friend, smoking an entire frisbee full of weed, and listening to the entire Led Zeppelin IV tape for the first time - high as a fucking kite.

That was a good night! And the album blew me away.

4. I love Zep, I love "Stairway..."
But Led Zeppelin ripped off a number of Blues artists, and never bothered to pay royalities, let alone give credit to the artists. Ok, Memphis Minnie and Robert Johnson are dead, but their heirs may appreciate some money from Zeppelin tunes. And make no mistake about it, they did a lot of old Blues tunes, especially in the early years.
