Is this a Cairn or a Yorkie? My previous dog was a Cairn, adopted him at age six and had him for 13 years, and he also had the ears! I have trouble sleeping, too, but my little one can sleep anywhere... :hi:

41. I think you're right. I have a Yorkie mug that one of my coworkers got me,

Because she thought that Rags was a Yorkie, rather than a Cairn. I used to bring him to work with me and he was always a hit... I don't have a pic of him on-line, lost him in 1993, at 18 1/2, a year before I found Barney, and he was one of the lighter ones. And I posted that pic of Jack while standing up because he was napping in the computer chair... :D

That's a cute pic!! The Cairn's features are a lil softer than a Yorkie, less pronounced eyes and the muzzle hair's different.

And my Rags actually did have rather unusual fur, but I guess it's usual for Cairns, LOL. From a distance, he looked kind of gold colored, but if you looked at the hairs up close, each one was black on the tip... Rags preferred men, loved the groomer I had at the time because he was an older man. And I think that his favorite person of all was my father. He didn't bond easily, since I was his fifth home. *sigh* But when I brought him home from being groomed, he used to hide under the table. He must have been alarmed that he could suddenly see...:D

26. Cats are easier than dogs, if you're busy...

They can stay on their own longer and can use a litterbox. When my uncle died, and nobody would take his pets, I agreed to take his two cats, even though I already had two dogs. I was very ill at the time, facing surgery, and even my friend, who has three of each (dogs and cats, and works for the local shelter), said I shouldn't do it. But I did and was never sorry. The love that they gave me, in exchange for the minimal care that they required, was more than worth it. :-)
