10. The soundtrack is very good at getting you from A to B in a car |
|
and good at getting you speeding tickets if you're not prudent about it

It was a favorite of German profs at my university, apparently. :)
If you liked that, you might also enjoy The Princess and the Warrior (also Franka Potente)... different style, somewhat, but also artistic and European and full of twists and turns.

18. General recommendations: |
|
If you liked Run Lola Run, start seeking out foreign films in your community, whether at your local art house cinema or on a college campus or on Netflix, or, if you're lucky, in a city with an international film festival.
You will see plots and characters that you have never seen before, guaranteed, and ways of looking at the world that you have never seen before.
Too many American films these days are brain-dead garbage. For years, I've refused to see any movie that consists mostly of car chases and explosions or concerns superheroes or is a remake of an older classic or a spin-off from a classic TV show or a slasher film or "cute" romantic comedy. That pretty much covers most studio releases, right?
But when I attend an international film festival, I always find at least one film and/or parts of several films that make me sit back and think, "Wow."

that's exactly the same thing that happens in other countries. We only get their best
Though, I absolutely agree about the current trend of remaking everything
